COVID-19 vaccination began in Bashkiria

Vaccination against the new coronavirus infection started on December 9. Immunization is voluntary. First of all, workers of 24 medical and educational organizations of Ufa and Sterlitamak will be vaccinated.
1200 doses of the Gam-COVID-Vak coronavirus vaccine (Sputnik V trademark) were delivered to the Republic of Bashkortostan on December 4.
The vaccine is supplied centrally from the federal center in compliance with all cold and supply chains. Sputnik V was delivered to the vaccination sites in compliance with all cold chains.
The vaccine is given in two stages, three weeks apart. After the first vaccination, humoral immunity is formed; that is, protective antibodies appear; after the second shot, the effect is fixed, a more stable and prolonged cellular immunity is formed.
Before vaccination, an initial examination by a physician is performed.
The vaccine is intended for people from 18 to 60 years old. It will not be administered to pregnant women and women who are breastfeeding. This is a common limitation for almost all medicinal and immunobiological preparations.
Also, a contraindication for administering a vaccine is the presence of acute infectious disease, hypersensitivity to vaccine components, and exacerbation of chronic diseases. Contraindications to the introduction of the second component are complications of the introduction of the first component.
Self-isolation is not required for the vaccinated; standard preventive measures are used: masks, gloves.
This is the second batch of the vaccine, the first received in September 2020. The drug was administered to 42 doctors working in the "red zones" of the republic's infectious diseases hospitals. Complications after vaccination were not recorded. According to the results of EIA analysis, high antibody titers were recorded.
