Bashkiria is among three leading regions in terms of social entrepreneurs number

Bashkiria ranks third in Russia in terms of the number of social entrepreneurs, said Irina Abramova, a member of the Republic's Public Chamber, Chairman of the Commission for Entrepreneurship, at the International Business Week 2020 in Ufa.

Meanwhile, social entrepreneurship has now been declared a priority area in Russia.

The Ministry of Economic Development of the country has already announced that the amount of state support for social entrepreneurs would increase every year.

In 2021, it will amount to 1.5 billion rubles; in 2022, it will grow to 2 billion rubles; in 2023, it will reach 2.5 billion rubles.

"Microloans will be issued to social entrepreneurs at a rate of no more than half of the Central Bank rate," Irina Abramova said at a roundtable organized as part of the International Business Week.

According to her, a great deal of attention is now paid to social entrepreneurship development in Bashkiria.

"We have increased regional support measures to 330 million rubles for municipal programs. I think that Bashkiria is one of the few in Russia who pays irretrievable subsidies for running a social entrepreneurial business," Irina Abramova concluded.

International Business Week 2020 is held in a hybrid format - online and offline in Ufa from December 8 to 11.

Numerous events of the IBW-2020 are held with a limited number of participants on the site and a large virtual audience.
