Radiy Khabirov: new COVID hospital in Sterlitamak is ready for first patients

The new clinical and diagnostic infectious disease center in Sterlitamak is ready to receive patients with coronavirus infection. The Head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, announced this at the ceremony of laying the Health Alley at the COVID hospital.
"For half a year, we have commissioned 30 thousand square meters of new infectious diseases hospitals. We have plans to develop further. We consider the fight against coronavirus as a challenge. First of all, I thank the doctors and tell the new team of medical professionals who will come to work here - please take care of yourself. And, of course, many thanks to the builders," said Radiy Khabirov.
1.4 billion rubles were allocated for the construction of an infectious diseases hospital in Sterlitamak, another 795 million rubles were spent on the purchase of medical equipment. The general contractor for the construction was ProektStroyKompleks LLC.
Construction of the COVID center began on October 10 and ended on December 1. It will house 74 isolated wards, including 60 wards (20 for children and 40 for adults) and 14 resuscitation units (one resuscitation unit for newborns). In general, there is the possibility of placing 282 beds, and in emergency mode - 312 beds. The COVID hospital will use 36 ALVs, a new ultra-modern computed tomography scanner, an X-ray machine, equipment complexes for the surgical and delivery unit, for resuscitation, a medical gas supply system, and an oxygen production station. Its own helipad for medical aviation has been built. The medical center includes a dormitory for 40 employees.
"We now have a large margin of safety in terms of free hospital beds and are ready for even the most unfavorable scenario of the pandemic. Our COVID hospital project turned out to be so successful that now similar clinics are being built in several regions of Russia. This form of the kurai flower turned out to be very convenient not only visually but functionally. The blocks are simultaneously combined, but at the same time, are reliably separated, as required in infectious diseases hospitals. Moreover, we are doubly pleased that our kurai can be seen from a bird's eye view in different parts of the country now," the Head of Bashkortostan posted on his social media.
