Maximum selling price for Russian vaccine against coronavirus is announced
The maximum selling price for the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine has been announced. The Ministry of Health of Russia registered the cost of the drug from the manufacturer at the level of 1942 rubles for two components, RIA Novosti reports citing the assistant to the head of the department, Alexei Kuznetsov.
It is also reported that the government has included "Sputnik V" in the list of vital and essential medicines. Vaccination will be free and voluntary for Russian citizens. The drug is not available for retail sale.
The day before, the first batch of a two-component vector vaccine by the Gamaleya Center Gam-COVID-Vac was delivered to Bashkiria.
"We are starting, following the instructions of the President of Russia, a new stage in combatting coronavirus infection. The republic received the first large batch of the two-component vector vaccine of the Gamaleya Center Gam-COVID-Vac - 1200 doses. First of all, we vaccinate those who are at risk, who work in direct contact with the infected - doctors, teachers, social workers," the Head of the Republic, Radiy Khabirov, posted on his social media.
He noted that the next, larger batch of vaccine is expected by the end of the year. He also emphasized that all vaccinations against coronavirus would be free of charge, prescribed by doctors, and only in public hospitals and clinics. There are no vaccines against COVID-19 in private medical institutions.
