First film from “Archeostan. Archeology of Bashkortostan" series is released

The first film from the scientific and educational media project "Archeostan. Archeology of Bashkortostan " is released. The cycle includes five films dedicated to various cultural and historical eras in the South Urals (stone, bronze, iron, the Middle Ages, and the New Age). The Archaeological Society of Bashkortostan implements the project with the support of the Presidential Grants Fund.
"The project is intended to emphasize the uniqueness of our region, located at the junction of different physical and geographical zones and ancient paths, which caused the heterogeneity of the ancient population and complex cultural contacts," says Ilshat Bakhshiev, Chairman of the Archaeological Society Council.
The first film, dedicated to the Stone Age, the oldest and longest stage in human history, tells about the development of the territory of the South Urals, the history and the modern stage of studying this period, as well as about the brightest complexes located in the most picturesque parts of Bashkiria: the Mysovaya and Kyzyl-Yar - the most ancient monuments of the South Ural Paleolithic era, the unique cave sanctuary Shulgan-Tash, as well as beautiful complexes with rock paintings - Idrisovskaya and Muradymovskaya Caves.
For six months, archaeologists filmed more than 40 archaeological sites throughout Bashkortostan (there are over 3700 of them in the republic) to create a scientific and educational cycle, resulting in over 50 hours of video material.
