First patients treated for coronavirus at home received free medicines in Bashkiria

In Bashkortostan, the first patients being treated for coronavirus at home received free kits of medicines. Delivery of medicines started in the republic on November 16.

The drugs are allocated to polyclinics by the Ministry of Health to treat patients with a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19. The list of drugs is strictly regulated and approved at the federal level. The kit includes antibiotics, antivirals, antipyretics, and other drugs needed to treat COVID-19 at home.

Since the burden on medical institutions during the pandemic has increased massively, volunteers from United Russia are helping deliver medicines to addressees. According to the head of the regional executive committee of the party Rustem Akhmadinurov, they intend to cover about one-third of all addresses. Medicines will be delivered by volunteers who have had coronavirus and who have antibodies. More than 300 volunteers were selected. All of them will be provided with protective suits.

It is planned to make about 200 deliveries in the republic every day.

“First of all, free kits of medicines are provided to patients who have a severe and moderately severe form of coronavirus infection,” Oksana Dmitrieva added, deputy chief physician for the medical department of the polyclinic at City Clinical Hospital No. 5.
