COVID hospital construction is in full swing in Sterlitamak, due date - December 1

More than 400 people and more than 60 pieces of equipment are currently working on constructing a temporary clinical and diagnostic infectious disease center in Sterlitamak. All work is carried out around the clock, Oleg Babenkov, construction deputy director at PSK company, told reporters. According to him, all concrete work is 100 percent completed, tree planting and landscaping are nearing completion.
The new building's total bed capacity is 60 isolation wards for round-the-clock stay and 14 intensive care wards (of which three are for children, nine are for adults, and one ward is postoperative).
The infectious disease department is equipped with individual boxes with access to the street with two chambers and sanitary facilities, including a shower cabin, a toilet bowl, a washbasin, with oxygen supply.
A surgical department will operate at the Sterlitamak Infection Center, where doctors will perform operations on patients with COVID-19 and other infections.
The center will also include an obstetric and gynecological unit, an admission and diagnostic department (including rooms for computed tomography, endoscopy, ultrasound diagnostics, functional diagnostics, and an X-ray room), a bacteriological laboratory, and a pharmacy.
Health care workers will be able to live in a comfortable hostel with 40 beds.
The hospital will have its station to prepare medical gases and oxygen, treatment facilities, and a diesel power plant, a station for disinfection of vehicles.
The Head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, earlier, during his visit to the construction site of a new infectious disease center, said that Sterlitamak would receive a first-class, modern multi-field hospital with the most state-of-the-art equipment.
According to the builders' assurances, the service life of the buildings will be more than 50 years.
Bashkortostan's budget allocated 2.195 billion rubles for the construction of the COVID hospital, of which 1.4 billion rubles for construction and installation work, 795.6 million rubles for the purchase of medical and other equipment, furniture, other household equipment, and vehicles.
