Bashkiria national swimming team won 21 medals of Volga Federal District championship

The national swimming team of Bashkiria returned from the Volga Federal District championship with 21 awards, despite the difficulties of preparing for the competitions amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Polina Egorova showed the best result in a distance of 100 meters backstroke. She took the silver medal at a distance of 50 meters too. Nikita Demikhov received a bronze medal at a distance of 50 and 100 meters breaststroke, Dmitry Kustikov at a distance of 100 meters butterfly.

The Bashkir swimmers took third place in the freestyle relay and the combined team. Juniors also won various awards. Ten representatives of the republic were qualified for sub-master sportsmen of Russia.
