Statement to demolish crosses in Bashkiria should be assessed legally - Konstantin Tolkachev

The Chairman of the State Assembly - Kurultay of the Republic of Bashkortostan Konstantin Tolkachev urged law enforcement agencies to study the content of a video from a part of the Bashkir public posted by Ramilya Saitova on social media on National Unity Day for violations of the law.

Earlier, representatives of nationalist organizations announced the need to demolish the crosses in Bashkiria. Ramilya Saitova released such a video on behalf of a certain "yiyin" (national assembly) on social media.

Konstantin Tolkachev stressed the importance of maintaining harmony in the multinational republic.

"In Bashkortostan, the issue of inter-ethnic relations has never become an apple of discord," the Chairman of the State Assembly wrote. "From time to time, some individuals try to play this card to solve some of their problems, but they fail to undermine mutual respect and tolerance in our society.
