Over 23 thousand people had community-acquired pneumonia in Bashkiria year to date

In Bashkiria, over 9 months of this year, 23,112 people had community-acquired pneumonia, the republican Ministry of Health press service reports.

For comparison: last year, over the same period, 16,939 pneumonia cases were recorded. The growth was 35%.

In recent days, a considerable number of patients with community-acquired pneumonia have been detected every day in the republic. Over the past day alone, 288 residents were diagnosed with the disease.

Earlier, the Bashinform News Agency reported that the mortality rate from pneumonia had also increased compared to last year.

1,505 people died from community-acquired pneumonia in the region for nine months of this year. In 2019, from January to October, almost half as many died from this disease - 860 residents.
