It may be scary, but you are on mission to save people - Radiy Khabirov addressed young doctors
Today, the Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov addressed the Bashkir State Medical University's medical residents via videoconference. Future doctors are sent to work in polyclinics in Ufa to provide assistance to the population and to help district therapists.
According to the rector of the Bashkir State Medical University Valentin Pavlov, tomorrow 150 residents will have an internship in district therapists' positions. There are another 200 people in reserve, who will be ready to start work at medical organizations' request. More than 1,200 residents are already working in the health care system, undergoing on-the-job internships in the republic's regions and cities. Their mentors are confident that working in the face of the coronavirus pandemic will help students gain unique experience and relevant medical knowledge.
"Today, the residents of our republic, the healthcare system needs your help," said Radiy Khabirov. "Medical specialists are very tired, and the number of patients is increasing every day. Our task now is to strengthen the primary health care unit. There are not enough physicians and nurses in polyclinics. Therefore, we hope that your help as resident physicians will be very timely. I understand that you have little experience either. It is maybe even a little scary. However, you go there on a mission to save people. Therefore, the main thing is to take care of yourself, observe sanitary and anti-epidemiological measures. "
