Immunity began to form in health professionals vaccinated against COVID-19 in Bashkiria

It was decided to test the first pilot batch of Gam-Covid-Vac on healthcare professionals working in the "red zone" of the republic's COVID hospitals. 42 volunteers first received one dose of the coronavirus vaccine, and 14 days later, the second. Before vaccination, everyone was tested for the absence of antibodies to the infection to maintain experimental integrity.

"After the vaccination, there was a slight malaise; the temperature rose to 38. Two days later, the condition returned to normal," said Rania Batyrova, a laboratory assistant at the Republican Infectious Diseases Hospital in the BST program «Honestly Speaking».

The subjects were warned that they would develop final immunity to the coronavirus for several more weeks. For example, Rania Batyrova received her first shot four weeks ago, and today the doctor's antibody tests show 9, and her colleague's 12.

According to the chief physician of the Republican Blood Transfusion Station Ramil Khamitov, even one in the tests for antibodies to coronavirus is already considered, according to medical data, to be sufficient to protect the body. They invite those who, after a previous illness, have a positivity coefficient of more than four to donate an anti-COVID plasma in Ufa.

Note that three vaccines against COVID-19 are currently registered in Russia. Scientists claim that the Gam-Covid-Vac vaccine can make a person immune to infection for two years.

On October 26, the Minister of Health of Bashkiria, Maxim Zabelin, announced the arrival of a new batch of vaccine in the republic in the near future. Widespread coronavirus vaccination in the region is planned to begin at the end of this year and early next year, as production increases and information from post-registration studies is analyzed.
