VeloRussia project announced cycling guide and bike school creation

The "VeloRussia. The Trans-Russian Cycling Route Europe - Asia" project summed up its first cycling season results. This year, its own network of cycling routes was created in Bashkiria with the support of the State Committee for Tourism RB, which will connect the cycling routes of the European and Asian parts of Russia.
Thirteen cycling routes already pass through the most interesting places in Bashkiria and the South Urals, connecting the region's main attractions. The project's website contains detailed information on tracks, main sights, and infrastructure on the routes. Over the past cycling season, all bike trails have been tested by cyclists, the routes have been adjusted towards more interesting and comfortable routes for mass tourists. Travel impressions, photographs, and video sketches are described in the blog on the project website.
Last summer, the VeloRussia project went beyond one region's limits. Another federal grant was received for the creation of a network of cycling routes in the Samara region. Cycling activists from Bashkiria explored and described the route through the Samara region. Project presentations took place in Moscow and Omsk regions.
According to the founder of the project and its leader, Anton Sazonov, a member of the Russian Geographical Society, known for the International Bicycle Expedition "Children of the World", who traveled around Europe and Asia on a bicycle with letters from schoolchildren, the next step in developing "VeloRussia" should be the official status of the created cycling routes. This will make a legal basis for their arrangement and maintenance.
Another direction of the project is the publication of a guidebook.
"The cycling guide will be ready for the start of the next cycling season," said Anton Sazonov.
An online cycling school is being created to make cycling tourism more widespread.
In the implementation of the project, VeloRussia relies on the cycling communities of Russia. The project is financially supported by the Presidential Grants Fund and the Civil Society Assistance Fund of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
