Increase in ARVI and community-acquired pneumonia is registered in Ufa

In Ufa, an increase in acute respiratory viral infections and community-acquired pneumonia is registered, said Galina Permina, deputy head of the regional department of Rospotrebnadzor, at a meeting in the mayor's office.
Compared to the previous week, an increase in the number of patients with acute respiratory infections is again recorded. During the laboratory tests of patients, the influenza virus was not detected. The number of community-acquired pneumonia is also on the rise. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, 4,291 people have been infected, the agency said.
As the agency previously reported, over 1.2 million people in the region are vaccinated against influenza - 31% of the republic's population. Doctors working in the "red zone" of COVID hospitals have been vaccinated with the first batch of coronavirus vaccinations. Vaccination against pneumococcal infection is also carried out in the region, which should prevent the number of fatal complications when a bacterial infection joins the virus in children and the elderly.
