Children's Clinical Hospital conducted surgery on child with brittle bone syndrome in Ufa

On October 12, the first-ever surgery on a child with imperfect osteogenesis (a genetic disease that causes frequent fractures) was conducted at the Republican Children's Clinical Hospital. The clinic reports this on its social media. The operation was successful, it was carried out by Ufa orthopedists-traumatologists and the head of the arthrogryposis department of the G.I. Turner National Medical Research Center of Pediatric Traumatology and Orthopedics (St. Petersburg) Dmitry Buklaev.

"Unfortunately, conservative methods do not give a 100% result. In our clinic, drugs have been introduced and are used, thanks to which the density of bone tissue increases, which allows avoiding bone deformations, frequent fractures characteristic of this pathology," the post says.
