Heart diseases remain one of main causes of death among Bashkiria population

In Bashkiria, circulatory diseases remain first in the ranking of morbidity among the adult population.

According to the Ministry of Health of the republic, in 2019, circulatory diseases accounted for 21% in the structure of the general morbidity among the population. Circulatory diseases accounted for slightly more than 25% last year in the structure of disability of the population aged 18 and over.

Bashkortostan Statistics Agency, citing the Ministry of Health, informs that these diseases accounted for 42% of the mortality structure. It is noted that the first position in mortality from circulatory diseases is due to the success in the treatment of infectious diseases, which were previously leaders in terms of mortality.

Most of the deaths (47%) were due to cerebrovascular diseases. More than 40% of cases fell on coronary heart diseases.

The average age of death from circulatory diseases is one of the highest - in 2019 in the republic, it was more than 75 years, but a significant part accounts for the population of working age (in 2019 - 3.6 thousand people out of 20.6 thousand who died from circulatory diseases, or more than 17%). The average age of death from this cause among men is significantly lower than among women (70.5 and 80.3 years, respectively).

Analysts note that most diseases of the circulatory system are of acquired nature. Among the factors that make it possible to maintain the cardiovascular system in a healthy state are the timely diagnosis, proper nutrition, and weight control, overcoming bad habits, and physical activity.

It is reported that in the republic in 1933, mortality from circulatory diseases was about 9% (in the first place was mortality from infectious and parasitic diseases - about 29% of deaths), and in 1980 - already more than 52%.

Earlier, the Bashinform News Agency reported that in Ufa, there had been a decrease in mortality in the past ten years. From 2010 to 2019, the number of deaths per thousand of the population decreased from 11.8 (12 654 people) to 10.5 (11 957), said Oksana Dayanova, head of the state statistics department in Ufa.
