11 million rubles will be required to adapt Askinskaya Cave for disabled in Bashkiria

In Bashkiria, it will take 11 million rubles to adapt the Askinskaya Ice Cave for the disabled.
The idea to open a tourist facility for people with disabilities belongs to Nyuta Federmesser, the author of the All-Russia People's Front project "Region of Care" and the founder of the Vera hospice charity foundation.
Last Saturday, September 26, five guests of the Oktyabrsky Home for the elderly and disabled, aged from 27 to 66, visited the cave with her.
At present, the regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society, which took the natural site for a long-term lease in 2017, is developing a project for organizing excursions for the elderly and disabled in order to participate in the competition of the Presidential Grants Fund. It is planned to asphalt a two-kilometer section of the road for convenient access to the cave, install aluminum rails and ramps for wheelchairs, buy a multi-seat UAZ car, and a snowmobile to bring tourists here at different times of the year. Inside the ice cave, stairs will also be adapted for comfortable ascent and descent of people with limited mobility, and a yurt for rest will be installed nearby.
“According to preliminary estimates, 11 million rubles are needed, and in the first year after the start of the project, about 1000 residents of boarding schools will see the cave,” Nyuta Federmesser commented on the upcoming changes.
In case of successful implementation of the project, the Askinskaya Ice Cave will become the first socially adapted natural object in the Republic of Bashkortostan.
