Russian regions will receive 2.1 thousand new school buses for 5 billion rubles

The Russian Government will allocate an additional 5 billion rubles for the purchase of 2.1 thousand school buses, said Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
According to the secretary of the General Council of United Russia, Andrey Turchak, school buses are actively used in rural areas, and often the vehicle fleet consists of old buses that are on the verge of service expiration.
"The decision to allocate 5 billion rubles from the Government's reserve fund for the purchase of more than 2 thousand new school buses for the regions will make school transportation safer and more comfortable. And at the same time, it will provide additional support to the domestic auto industry," said Andrey Turchak.
The Head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, said earlier that by September 2020, 38 buses would be purchased in the republic, and by the end of the year, 44 buses would replenish school fleets. There are 1442 buses in total in Bashkortostan, 42 of which should be replaced.
"The vehicles we acquire allows us to solve several problems at once. The safety of our children, the availability of school education for residents of even the most remote parts of the republic, the convenience of schoolchildren, the emotional security of parents are the most important priorities for us," the Head of the Region posted.
