Russia is first in world to register vaccine against COVID-19

On August 11, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the national registration of the first vaccine in the world against the new coronavirus infection.
Earlier in Ufa, Deputy Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Oleg Gridnev said that the drug would be registered until August 12.
“The third and final round of vaccine trials is underway. We must understand that it must be safe,” Gridnev said in an interview with reporters during the opening of the Republican Clinical Oncological Dispensary in the capital of Bashkiria.
First of all, the vaccine will be received by medical workers, the elderly, and vulnerable segments of the population of the country.
“We will feel the effectiveness of the vaccine when the population immunity is formed and when the transmission of the virus will be practically impossible,” the Deputy Minister of Health of Russia said.
Vladimir Putin also said that his daughter had tested the vaccine on herself.
