Shifts for doctors at COVID hospitals were reduced due to heatwave in Bashkiria

Hot weather has set in Bashkiria. The air temperature in the republic reaches 38 degrees Celsius in places. According to the Minister of Health of Bashkortostan Maxim Zabelin at a briefing session in the government, due to the heat, they had to change the working hours of medical personnel at COVID hospitals.
Maxim Zabelin explained that working in biohazard suits at temperatures above +35 degrees is difficult and this required a reduction in the working hours of health workers.
"We reduced the time spent on the shift, began to alternate. We make sure that the shift will last no more than 4 hours and without thermal shocks. The temperature in the rooms has grown. Sometimes we go for two or three hours to make it more comfortable. Among the negative aspects, is an increased expenditure of personal protective equipment, but we are OK with it," the minister said.
The Head of the Republic noted that employees should work in comfortable conditions.
"In general, I can not even imagine how you can wear suits in such heat," he said. "This is quite sizeable for us, of course, but we will incur these expenses so that the doctors work in comfortable conditions. It is very hard".
