Ufa journalists supported their arrested Moscow colleague Ivan Safronov with pickets

Ufa journalists supported Ivan Safronov, a 30-year-old Moscow journalist arrested by the FSB on suspicion of treason. The case was given the status of "secret"; it is only known that the former Kommersant correspondent and the observer of the defense industry is suspected of transmitting information to Czechia.

On July 7, in Moscow, journalists went to picket Lubyanka Square, demanding an open trial. They were detained one by one.

On July 8, Ufa journalists went to solitary pickets to the memorial plaque to writer Sergei Dovlatov, the MediaKorset portal reported. Employees of the publications Kommersant, RBC, Argumenty i Facty, Bashmedia, ProUfu, Ekho Moskvy, BST held posters with the slogans "Journalism is not a crime". The pickets passed without detentions.
