Medical waste after treating patients with COVID-19 found in garage in Bashkiria

On behalf of the Bashkir Prosecutor’s Office, the Tuymazinsky Interdistrict Supervisory Authority checks the fact of storing medical waste in a garage. Presumably, Tuimazinskaya Central Regional Hospital previously used medical devices to provide medical care to patients with a diagnosis of COVID-19.

The Tuymazinsky inter-district prosecutor, as well as specialists from the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights RB and the Ministry of Ecology, responded to the scene.

“An assessment will be made of compliance with the sanitary and epidemiological requirements when handling medical waste, the fulfillment of a contract between the hospital and a commercial organization for the disposal of the medical products, as well as the actions of officials of the medical institution,” the press service of the prosecutor’s office said.

Now the area adjacent to the garage was cordoned off. All circumstances of the incident are established, and the persons involved in the incident are interviewed.
