It is proposed to hold Swimming Day in Bashkiria

Swimming Day will help reduce the number of water accidents. This opinion was expressed by the deputy of the State Assembly of Bashkortostan Oksana Savchenko at a meeting of the public council of the regional project "Affordable Sport" of the United Russia party. The new party project, launched a week ago, is already starting to formulate work plans.

The project coordinator Olga Semak suggested holding a Republican Sports Festival. According to her, it is planned to hold the event this autumn, but only in case of a favorable epidemiological situation. With negative forecasts, the festival will be postponed to a later date.

Oksana Savchenko noted that with the onset of the summer season, reports of deaths on the water constantly appeared in the media. In order to reduce the numbers of these statistics, in her opinion, it is necessary to teach children and adults the correct behavior in water bodies. Republican Swimming Day should help in solving this problem.

“This is a mass sport, not sports swimming. We will explain to people in a playful way how to float. Through entertainment programs, it will be easier for both children and adults to remember how to behave in a given situation, how to help a drowning person, and so on,” said Oksana Savchenko.
