Radiy Khabirov welcomed participants of First International Urban Forum

The First International Urban Forum "The Territory of the Future. View from the Heart of Eurasia" opened in Ufa. The Russian Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov arrived in Bashkortostan on a working visit.

The Minister and the Head of the Region examined the construction site of an inter-university student campus in the Demsky district of Ufa. According to Radiy Khabirov, a modern multifunctional complex will be designed for 5 thousand people.

Before lunch, the forum hosts thematic sessions with speakers from different regions and countries. At the session "Scientific and educational center as an urban development driver," the forum participants were welcomed by the Head of Bashkiria.

"I want to thank you for taking our invitation to meet in a hospitable Ufa and discuss how we will shape our environment, create convenient, comfortable space for our citizens in the coming years," said Radiy Khabirov and called everyone to comply with all sanitary and epidemiological standards.

The Head of the Republic noted that this thematic section was one of the most interesting.

"If we take three national projects -"Education", "Science" and "Comfortable Environment", then what can be formed around universities, points of science is very interesting. Universities, in general, are drivers of urban development. The content of university science and their architecture determine the harmonious development of cities."

The section was moderated by the chief of staff of the Head of the Republic, Alexander Sidyakin, and he presented the Bashkortostan projects to the audience.

The Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Valery Falkov spoke about the functions of scientific and educational centers. During the day, the Minister will visit the educational institutions in the region.
