Volunteer clean-up took place at military burial on Kurochkina Hill in Ufa
Activists of the All-Russian People’s Front in the Republic of Bashkortostan held a community a volunteer clean-up on Kurochkina Hill in Ufa. On June 22, on the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow, a tombstone will be installed here in memory of the soldiers and workers of the homefront.
During the Great Patriotic War, soldiers of the Red Army and workers of the State Union Plant No. 26 evacuated from Rybinsk, which produced every third engine for military aircraft, were buried in a village cemetery in the northern part of the city.
The work of the regional branch of the All-Russian People’s Front to perpetuate the memory of the heroes of the war and the homefront lasted several years. The main difficulty was that this site only in October 2018 received the status of a protected natural area. All these years, the activists, together with representatives of the Russian Engineering Union, tried to keep the territory in order. Moreover, in the year of the 75th anniversary of the Victory, a memorial plate will appear on Kurochkina Hill in commemoration of the homefront workers and soldiers of the Red Army.
