All Russian schools are equipped with cameras with face recognition

By 2024, all 43 thousand Russian schools are equipped with cameras with face recognition, according to «Vedomosti».
The total amount of contracts exceeds 2 billion rubles, the publication has calculated.
Meanwhile, as reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the statement of the Elvis-NeoTek foundation company, the smart cameras in schools will be installed at the entrance and exit, and will also be used for video surveillance in classrooms.
This will contribute to safety at school and also simplify the transition to distance learning.
Cameras with face recognition function were developed by Elvis-NeoTek together with the National Center for Informatization (part of the Rostec Group of Companies).
Of the 43 thousand Russian schools, they are currently installed in 1,500 educational institutions.
“Russian-designed cameras can guarantee the superior performance of the resulting video image and reduce dependence on foreign developments and equipment supplies,” said Elvis-NeoTek CEO Alexander Rakutin.
