WHO announces worsening situation with COVID-19

The number of deaths from COVID-19 in 216 countries of the world exceeded 400 thousand people. This is reported by the World Health Organization (WHO). Moreover, more than a quarter (109,746) of the people who suffered from COVID are in the United States of America. In total, 6 931 000 cases of the coronavirus infection were detected in the world.

According to Izvestia, on June 8, speaking at a briefing to reporters, the head of WHO, Tedros Gebreyesus, outlined the situation in the world with a pandemic of the new coronavirus infection.

As he says, recently, the improvement of the epidemiological situation has been recorded in the EU countries, but the situation is worsening on a global scale. So, for nine of the last ten days in the world daily recorded more than 100 thousand new infected.

According to the Bashinform News Agency, as of June 8, 4,017 patients with the coronavirus infection were identified in Bashkiria. During the day, there were 89 of them. The number of deaths from the coronavirus in the region over the past day remained unchanged at 18 people. 92 patients with COVID-19 are accounted for every 100 thousand people in Bashkiria. The incidence rate in the region is 2.2 percent.
