Elective medical care is resumed in Russia

Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered to resume the elective medical care in Russia following a meeting on the sanitary and epidemiological situation. The order was addressed to the Ministry of Health. It relates to the resumption of both primary medical care and specialized one, including high-tech. The department must report on the order fulfillment by June 20.

At the same time, the head of the state instructed to keep a specialized bed capacity for patients with the coronavirus in case the incidence in the country starts to increase again. By June 10, the government should also "prepare proposals for the development and strengthening of the sanitary-epidemiological service."

They have already begun to return to the provision of elective medical care in Moscow. According to plans announced on May 27, in the coming weeks, about 5 thousand beds in hospitals previously redeveloped for the treatment of COVID-19 will be returned to regular operation. At the same time, the authorities ordered all patients to be placed in separate wards and to test them for the coronavirus.
