13 healthcare workers infected with coronavirus received insurance benefits among total of 507 in Bashkortostan

In Bashkiria, 507 healthcare professionals became infected with the coronavirus, according to the Republican Trade Union of Health Workers with reference to Rospotrebnadzor. Applications for insurance benefits were filed by 138 patients recovered from COVID.

By May 27, the Social Insurance Fund paid insurance benefits to 13 medical workers for a total of 895 thousand rubles.

Payments to doctors, nurses, paramedics, ambulance drivers are provided according to the decree of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

Trade union technical inspector Albert Abukaev explains that at the moment, there are two options for dealing with cases of infection of doctors and nurses: a simplified one, established by a May decree of the government of the Russian Federation, and a more complex one, in force since 2000.

“The problem is that the current situation with the new coronavirus infection is a non-standard and completely unexplored problem. The regulatory framework, as they say, is written from scratch, it is not possible to foresee and prescribe all possible situations. Thus, with systemic issues, we will appeal to the Russian Ministry of Health, the Government of the Russian Federation, and the Federal Social Insurance Fund,” commented on Abukaev.

The list of insured events includes disability due to infection with the coronavirus (estimated from 680 thousand to 2 million rubles), death of a health worker from the coronavirus (in this case, 2.7 million rubles should be paid to their relatives), temporary disability (the amount of payments is 68 thousand . rubles).
