10 Ufa residents are participating in trials of Russian drug against COVID-19
Clinical trials of a drug against COVID-19 have begun in Bashkiria, Vesti Bashkortostan reports. The Levilimab intended for the treatment of the new type of coronavirus infection began to be tested in three Russian centers. One of them is the clinic of Bashkir State Medical University (BSMU).
Now the first stage of testing is taking place, in which 10 Ufa residents are taking part. The drug is intended for those who are already sick. Subcutaneous injection is administered once. The results of the first tests will be known in June, after which the second stage of testing will begin.
"The first stage of the clinical trial of the drug will be completed in early June," said Bulat Bakirov, head of the department of hospital therapy at BSMU. "Then there will be final information on the effectiveness of this drug. Therefore, I am sure that we will receive a drug for the treatment of patients in the near future."
