Bashkiria expects increase in COVID-19 infection among working people

In Bashkiria, COVID-19 infection among workers is expected to increase. It was announced at an online briefing of the regional Ministry of Health on May 5 by the deputy head of the department Irina Kononova. According to her, in the republic, the appearance of morbidity foci associated with places of work is possible.

“Now, foci associated specifically with workplaces will grow as the economy needs to be raised. The republic cannot stop working completely, therefore it is a risk zone, and the incidence will increase there,” Kononova said.

The deputy minister also noted the risks associated with the return of shift workers to Bashkiria. “They should be returned and this is out of the question. By May 8, there will already be 1800 people, and these are serious risks. Therefore, they will be isolated for more than 14 days,” Kononova admitted.
