Bashkiria is in fifth place in Russia in number of COVID-19 tests

The Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov, on his Facebook page on April 29 announced that the republic was in fifth place in the country in the number of tests carried out for COVID-19. He also emphasized that for the sake of good statistics, he had never hidden and would not hide the real state of things in the region with the coronavirus.

"We have consistently increased and will continue to increase the number of tests for the coronavirus in the republic. Now we are the fifth in the country in the number of tests conducted. The truth is simple here: the more tests you do - the more increase in the incidence rate is detected, while, accordingly, you "ruin the statistics". However, from the very beginning, I have decided for myself that the main thing is people's health and the desire to contribute to a speedy end of the epidemic," Radiy Khabirov posted.

He also added that at a briefing session, new prevention measures for the COVID-19 would be announced on April 30, as well as how the May holidays will be held in the republic.

As previously reported, the number of COVID-19 cases in Bashkiria, as of April 29, was 691 people. This is by 60 people more than in the past day. A total of 62,200 tests for the coronavirus have been done - more than one percent of citizens have been examined.
