Our medicine will reach higher level after getting over coronavirus - Radiy Khabirov

On April 22, the Head of the Region Radiy Khabirov held a meeting of the Council under the Head of Bashkortostan for the development of civic institutions and human rights.

The participants discussed measures to support the population, small businesses, and medical professionals in the context of countering the new coronavirus spread.

Executive Secretary of the Council Zulfiya Gaisina spoke about the difficult situation with the provision of personal protective equipment for doctors and staff of clinics and hospitals that were not redeveloped into infectious disease hospitals. There are some issues regarding the control of access to medical facilities. Zulfiya Gaisina suggested more actively introducing a system of telemedicine consultations into the practice, as well as establishing a stimulating payment for all doctors, and not only for those who work with patients with the confirmed COVID-19.

According to Radiy Khabirov, those doctors and specialists who work in conditions of an immediate threat to their life and health should receive payments first of all. In the coming days, such a surcharge will be established, in particular, for employees of stationary social service institutions that are quarantined.

The Head of the republic also suggested the Council forming a working group together with the Ministry of Health that would check the facts of inadequate compliance of polyclinics with sanitary and epidemiological requirements.

"In an ideal scenario, we want to get out of the coronavirus situation having reached a higher level of our medical care", said Radiy Khabirov. "It is essential that the federal center helps us. We have now received a little more than 2 billion rubles for the redeveloping of hospitals and combatting the coronavirus. With these funds, we have purchased a large number of lung ventilators, several computer tomographs, and we are repairing several institutions. But most importantly, our doctors must also make it to a higher level".
