The transmission of the coronavirus through air or touch is unlikely; the only way to get infected is to "inhale the drops" that are released when the patient coughs and sneezes. Virologists from the Institute of the Heinsberg region in Germany made this conclusion, «Izvestia» reports.

Scientists have found that the coronavirus does not survive on a doorknob or the surface of a telephone. Infections in a supermarket or restaurant are also unlikely.

"When we took samples from door handles, telephones, or toilets, it turned out to be impossible to cultivate the virus in the laboratory, based on these samples," said the Institute Head Hendrik Streek.

Scientists have found that the pathogen COVID-19 is sensitive to drying, and infection occurred "when people came into contact for a long time".

As reported by Bashinform News Agency, there are 57,999 infected with the coronavirus in Russia as a whole, of which 4,420 have recovered. 513 people died.

According to current data, on April 22, there are 396 patients with the coronavirus infection in Bashkiria. During the day their number increased by 25 people.
