Natural population decline amounted to 11 thousand people in Bashkiria since 2017

Over the past three years, the population has grown in 24 Russian regions, in three constituent entities of the Russian Federation the population has not changed, and in 58, it has begun to decline. The Republic of Bashkortostan was on the 35th place of the demographic rating prepared by RIA Novosti on the basis of Rosstat data.
As of January 1, 2020, the resident population of Bashkiria amounted to 4.038 million people. The natural population decline in 2017-2019 amounted to 11.6 thousand people, migration loss - 17 thousand people.
The largest population growth was in Ingushetia in 2017-2019 (a natural increase of 19.3 thousand), Sevastopol (migration growth of 23.9 thousand), and Leningrad region (migration of 112.6 thousand), the minimum - in Buryatia, Sakhalin region and the Nenets Autonomous District.
As the analysts explain, according to the Federal State Statistics Service, for the period 2017-2019 in Russia, there is a difficult demographic situation caused by the natural population decline, which was not compensated by the migration influx. In 2019, the number of births in the Russian Federation was 12% lower than in 2017, while mortality decreased by only 1.3%. The influx of migrants during this period decreased by 0.6%, the outflow of residents decreased by 2.3%. As a result, as of January 1, 2020, the population of Russia, according to the Federal State Statistics Service, amounted to 146.748 million people.
