Vladimir Putin has postponed Victory Parade

Solemn events were postponed due to the situation with the coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak.

He made a statement during a meeting of the Security Council of Russia.

On April 15, leaders of 12 veteran organizations asked the president to reschedule the parade.

In their opinion, health safety cannot be guaranteed during the event.

Veterans proposed to hold it at another time, when "in accordance with the epidemiological situation, the parade will not be a threat, but truly a triumph of peace and security."

Previously, the Kremlin called the participation of veterans in the parade unadvisable because of the coronavirus spread.
