Sterlitamak City Hospital laboratory will do 150 tests for COVID per day

On April 17, a laboratory for COVID-19 tests by the method of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was opened at the Sterlitamak City Hospital No. 2, which will perform up to 150 analyzes per day. To date, eight such laboratories have been deployed in the republic.

Currently, studies make it possible to identify a specific site of coronavirus RNA in the acute phase of the disease.

In the coming weeks, reagents will appear in the market for the detection of specific antibodies to the coronavirus, which will help to identify a previous infection.

Thus, an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was successfully tested in the Infectious Diseases Hospital of Ufa. In the near future, it is planned to begin the production of test systems in two versions: determination of total antibodies (IgM, IgA, IgG) and specific IgG antibodies. This will allow diagnosing the coronavirus infection in both early and late stages.
