Alloplant Eye Center has been transformed into coronavirus observation center in Ufa
The Alloplant Center for Ophthalmic and Plastic Surgery in Ufa will be reorganized into a coronavirus infection observation center, which will hospitalize people who had contact with those with confirmed COVID-19, the general director of the institution, Radik Kadyrov, said.
To date, all patients have been discharged from the Eye Center. Preliminary, until July, the institution stops the reception of its specialized patients. All scheduled operations are canceled.
The center is preparing to accept those who have been in contact with patients with coronavirus for their medical observation for 14 days.
“We are preparing 40 separate double rooms with 80 beds. The rooms are equipped with everything necessary, showers, refrigerators, TV, Internet. Two teams of 12 medical volunteers were trained: paramedics, doctors, and nurses. Conditions have been created for them. They will live in the clinic for 14 days, ”said Radik Kadyrov.
“We are provided with personal protective equipment for two weeks in advance. We bought disposable, reusable suits; there are 70 respirators, about 190 glasses, there are panoramic masks, disposable masks, and laminated surgical gowns. In the future, we hope to received support from the Ministry of Health and other organizations. ”
The institution added that the issue of catering in the future center had not yet been resolved. The issue of patient routing also should be addressed.
