Bashkortostan medical institutions received 17 mechanical lung ventilators

Medical institutions of Bashkiria received 17 mechanical lung ventilators, according to the regional Ministry of Health. Of these, 12 devices are for adult patients, and five are for children.

First of all, five clinical ventilators were received by the clinical hospital of the Demsky district of Ufa. On March 30, an infectious disease hospital with 315 beds was deployed here.

Five mechanical lung ventilators were received by the city clinical hospital No. 8 and two devices by the Republican Infectious Clinical Hospital.

Five devices for children will be distributed in hospitals that provide medical care to children.

In total, 143 ventilation devices should be delivered to the republic, the ministry specifies.

Earlier, Maxim Zabelin said that in the hospitals of Bashkiria, there are about 700 lung ventilators. Besides, there are still portable devices that can be used for this purpose, anesthesia-respiratory devices.

Lung ventilators are used to replace the patient's breathing functions if they cannot breathe on their own. They are used in operating rooms, in intensive care units and resuscitation departments to saturate the blood with oxygen and remove carbon dioxide. The device has an alarm system that constantly monitors the condition of the patient and notifies that the respiratory monitoring exceeds the established boundaries and in case of any disorders of the ventilation process.
