Share of people with high commitment to healthy lifestyle was about 19% in Bashkiria

April 7 is World Health Day. Rosstat conducted a survey to study self-esteem of health, commitment to a healthy lifestyle, physical activity and other aspects of self-preserving behavior in Russia and its subjects.
According to a survey, more than three thousand people surveyed in the Republic of Bashkortostan self-assessed their health status: 7.2% consider their health to be very good, 44.5% - good, 37.9% - satisfactory and 7.8% - poor or very bad, statistics of Bashkortostan.
The proportion of people aged 15 years and over leading a healthy lifestyle was 19.7%. These include people with a high commitment to healthy lifestyles: the absence of a smoking habit, consumption of salt, not exceeding the daily norm, consumption of fruit and vegetables daily at least 400 grams, moderate and high physical activity, alcohol consumption no more than 168 grams of pure ethanol per week for men and no more than 84 grams - for women.
Health habits are also aided by eating habits. For example, the share of men surveyed who daily consume at least 400 grams of fruits and vegetables in the republic amounted to 32.4%, among women - 35.2%.
The study also addressed the spread of health risk factors among the population. Thus, the proportion of people aged 15 years and over who consume excess salt (more than 5 grams of NaCl per day) was 12.8% among men and 6.0% among women. About 24% of respondents smoke tobacco. Four percent are more likely to drink alcohol than normal among men - 7.3% of respondents, among women - 1.1%.
The goal of World Health Day is to direct the attention of every person, society, and government to the problems of health and public health. April 7 is also the birthday of the World Health Organization, created in 1948.
