Charity Foundation raises funds to protect doctors from coronavirus in Bashkiria

The Ministry of Health of Bashkortostan and the “Izgelek” Charity Foundation are implementing a joint project “Take Care of Doctors”. The purpose of the project is to prevent medical personnel from coronavirus infection by creating a reserve fund of protective equipment.
“Today, hospitals are equipped with all necessary facilities. The degree of readiness is high. But as the experience of Moscow and European clinics, faced with the massive influx of patients with coronavirus and their further stay in hospitals, shows, much more personal protective equipment may be required”, said the Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic Irina Kononova, commenting on the situation.
“We do not know exactly how the situation with coronavirus will develop. The spread of infection is high. In a matter of days, hospitals can be full of patients; their number may grow exponentially. We must be prepared for such a scenario. It is necessary to create a margin of safety for several months in advance. That is why the question arose of creating a reserve fund so that, if necessary, medical workers have the inventory, disinfectants, and protective equipment in full. We must protect our heroes, who save patients risking their lives,” adds Raufa Rakhimova, chairman of the board of trustees of the “Izgelek” Foundation.
The “Izgelek” Foundation started to collect donations to replenish the reserve fund of hospital facilities of the republic with the necessary protective equipment.
