Voting on amendments to Constitution may be postponed for summer - media

Voting on amendments to the Constitution may be postponed to June. The change in the voting date is made due to the spread of the novel coronavirus.
"So far, the date on which the vote can be postponed has not been approved, but most likely it will take place in June," Vedomosti reports.
The postponement is connected with the fact that the peak of the epidemic in Russia may occur in April when the vote should take place. Closer to summer, the situation with COVID-19 should decline, experts believe.
In the case of the vote postponement, the new date will depend on the Unified State Examination, which is held in June, since most polling stations are located in schools.
Experts say that the new date for the voting should be defined by March 25, since the actions related to the event come into force on this day: the registration of citizens who want to vote at their place of residence through the "Mobile Voter" should begin.
