Ufa passed baton to Nur-Sultan

In the next four years, the main city of the Commonwealth of Independent States will be the capital of Kazakhstan, Nur-Sultan. It will chair the International Assembly of Capitals and Major Cities of the CIS Countries, the Argumenty i Fakty informed. It was the capital of Bashkiria Ufa, which had previously chaired the Assembly for 4 years. This decision was made on March 12 at the 27th session of the International Assembly of Capitals and Major Cities of the Post-Soviet States, which was held in the Moscow House of Nationalities.

The Assembly unites 53 cities of Russia and 8 cities of the CIS countries. It is noted that this is not just a union of people, but a platform for the exchange of experience. The International Assembly has several programs that embody the main directions of its work. One of them is “Electronic City” and provides for the development on the basis of the electronic portal of Intercity and International Information Interaction in all areas of urban life. And the program “City-to-city” is aimed at facilitating the exchange of experience between the Assembly cities in the field of integration and business cooperation, sustainable development, and functioning of the housing sector, AiF reports.
