Donors gave 42 tons of blood in Bashkiria last year

In Bashkiria in 2919, donors gave more than 42 tons of blood, which was 103% of the plan, the regional Ministry of Health reports.

Over the past year, more than 72 thousand donations were made.

Besides, in 2019, the Bashkir bone marrow donor registry began to replenish. To date, it has 3,319 potential donors.

“Our service has branches in all medical districts of the republic, transfusion departments in regional hospitals and a blood transfusion department at Bashkir State Medical University, said Ramil Khamitov, head physician of the Republican blood transfusion station, at the final meeting. “All medical organizations of the republic in accordance with the territorial location are attached to the blood transfusion station or its branch, the distance between the producer and consumer of blood components does not exceed 100 km.”

Also, as part of the event, the results of the «Good Donor» contest, which started on February 11, 2019, were summed up. 100 participants, who were the first to submit booklets with filled donations, received bicycles and another 50 - skis. Natalya Abubakirova, a resident of Ufa, became the holder of a super prize - a ticket to Sochi.
