Storm: Bashkiria Emergency Ministry warns of strong wind gusts up to 26 m/s

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Bashkiria warns residents of the region about a dangerous phenomenon: on the evening of February 26 and at night on February 27 in some places a very strong wind is expected in the east of the republic with gusts up to 21-26 m/s. According to the Beaufort scale, a wind speed of 24-28 m/s corresponds to a “whole gale”.

According to weather forecasters, partly cloudy weather is expected in the coming days. At night, light snow in places, increasing to moderate in the east, blizzards, light sleet in the afternoon, snowy rain. Packed snow on the roads, icy conditions. The northwestern wind with the transition to the southwestern 9-14m/s, gusts up to 18m/s, at night, the wind will increase up to 21-26m/s in the east of the republic. Air temperature at night will drop to -5, -10 C, during the daytime -2, + 3 C.

Deterioration of visibility in haze and snow to 1-2 km will be possible on roads at night and in the morning.

In Ufa, cloudy weather with sunny periods is forecasted. At night, light snow, during the day, light sleet, snowy rain, packed snow on the roads, ice. Northwestern wind turning to southwestern 9-14 m/s, gusts at night up to 16m/s. Air temperature at night -5, -7 C, during the daytime 0, + 2 C.

Traffic is regular on federal highways and roads of republican significance. Special equipment is used for snow removal: 122 vehicles on the federal highways, 604 vehicles on republican roads, 295 in Ufa.
