New pool is opened in Ufa

The first Sports Swimming Center has opened in the "Inors" neighborhood of Ufa. Children will be able to learn swimming in its 25-meter pool. The capacity of this pool in the Kalininsky district of Ufa exceeds 700 people per day.
The construction of the Sports Swimming Center with a total area of 3 thousand square meters began in 2017.
The estimated construction cost of the facility amounted to 151 million rubles. Of these, 135 million rubles were allocated from the republican budget, 16 million from the federal budget, Ruslan Khabibov, Minister of Youth Policy and Sports of Bashkortostan, told reporters.
The first floor of the Sports Swimming Center accommodates a four-lane pool, a lobby, a wardrobe, a doctor's office, various administrative offices, rooms for trainers, staff rooms, as well as changing rooms, showers, a laboratory and technical rooms.
There is a gym, pool stands with 100 seats, as well as various auxiliary facilities on the second floor.
As the head of the Ministry of Sports of the region Ruslan Khabibov noted, the new pool was opened primarily for the children of the Inors neighborhood.
"The Head of Bashkortostan has set the task of everybody's learning swimming. So schoolchildren will take their classes here," he added.
According to him, the availability of pools is only 14 percent in Ufa. To date, there are 16 districts in the republic where there are still no municipal sports pools, but "which will be built in accordance with the schedule until 2024."
On the instructions of the Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov, a program for the construction of sports complexes, combined with swimming pools in 16 municipalities, was developed. The program is designed until 2024.
