Masks and antiseptics: Russian Railways tightened security measures due to coronavirus outbreak

Additional anti-epidemiological measures are taken by the Russian Railways to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection in Russia, the company's press service reports.
In particular, the staff was briefed on actions and safety measures in case of identifying persons with symptoms of an infectious disease. All employees in contact with passengers (trainmen, cashiers, attendants, etc.) are provided with personal protective equipment (masks, gloves) and skin antiseptics.
The emergency supply of special detergent compositions is provided at stations and trains to disinfect all the premises. The air disinfection unit performance and bactericidal lamp availability are checked. Passengers are informed through audio systems on disease prevention measures, and memos are posted on coronavirus prevention measures.
Doctors are on duty at the stations, and the medical stations are additionally equipped with the necessary anti-epidemic agents and hand-held non-contact infrared thermometers.
Currently, railway transportation to the People's Republic of China and the DPRK are temporarily limited. Passengers can receive returns without charges of unused travel documents to canceled trains issued at Russian points of sale.
