Rospotrebnadzor announced onset of influenza and ARVI epidemic in Bashkiria

The republican Rospotrebnadzor reports on the beginning of an epidemic rise in the incidence of influenza and acute respiratory viral infections in Bashkiria.

According to the latest data, in the fifth week of the year, 27,469 people fell ill with influenza and ARVI in the republic, of which 69.8% were children.

The incidence of acute respiratory viral infection among the total population of the region is 35.6% higher than the epidemic threshold. Compared to the previous week, it grew by 31.3%, the agency informs. The epidemiological threshold is exceeded among school-age children by 31.9%.

Over the past week, 7,640 cases of acute respiratory viral infection have been registered in Ufa, including 4,526 cases in children. Compared with the previous week, the incidence increased by 13%. Exceeding the epidemic threshold of incidence is observed among adults by 23.1%, children 7-14 years old - by 16.6%.

In laboratory examinations of patients, both influenza viruses are determined (pandemic strain A1 and B in almost equal proportions), and viruses of non-influenza etiology.
