Head of Bashkiria visited repositories of National Archives

The Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov visited the National Archives of the Republic on the day of military glory - the defeat of the Nazis in the Battle of Stalingrad. Today, more than 13 thousand funds, 2.6 million files are stored there. They contain valuable, especially valuable and unique documents on the history of our region from 1749 to 2019, funds related to the pre-revolutionary period, funds of the Soviet and post-Soviet periods, personal documents. One of the essential tasks facing the archive is to convert the documents into electronic media.

The Head of Bashkortostan was told that 22 304 files of especially valuable documents had already been digitized, which is 39% of the total. These are funds of census materials from the end of the 18th - the middle of the 19th century, 1917, 1920, 1926, metric books of Orthodox and Muslim parishes.

In 2008, the digitization process of especially valuable documents stored in the archive began. Due to the fact that the available planetary book scanners became outdated, in 2017-2018 the government of the republic allocated funds of 20.6 million rubles for the purchase of four new planetary scanners, technical stations, and software. Their acquisition allowed increasing the speed of scanning documents 4.5 times.

Every year, a new collection of documents and materials is prepared for publication in the archive. The "Bashkortostan Divisions on the Fronts of the Great Patriotic War" book was prepared and submitted to the Kitap Publishing House by the 75th anniversary of the Victory.
