Russian Geographical Society has planned expeditions to Toratau Geopark in Bashkiria

The Bashkir branch of the Russian Geographical Society planned to conduct a series of expeditions in 2020 to the territory of the created Toratau Geopark: ethnographic - to collect material among the local population; snowmobile - for the study of natural attractions; archaeological - for the inventory of objects. All these materials will be needed to prepare an application for the inclusion of a geopark in the UNESCO Global Network.

It was announced by the chairman of the regional branch of the Russian Geographical Society, rector of the Bashkir State Pedagogical University, Salavat Sagitov, at a meeting of the Board of Trustees of the regional branch of the organization, chaired by the Chief of Staff of the Head of Bashkiria, Alexander Sidyakin.

Also, for the current year in connection with the 175th anniversary of the Russian Geographical Society, it is planned to hold the First Interregional Festival of the Russian Geographical Society “Toratau”, which will be carried out in late March in Ufa, the First Small Geographical Dictation in Bashkiria.

A memorial stele with coordinates will be installed in the Gafuriysky region in the geographical center of Bashkiria near the village of Zirikovo. It is planned to implement the Golden Nail international project in the Usolka section.
